Shai has been a Cat lover from the day she opened her eyes and had all her families feral barn cats parading around the farm yard with her on her adventures by time she could walk. She grew up with a deep love for all things cat following Cat Rescuers on YouTube and learning as much as she could about the proper care and resources cats need to thrive. This continued into her adolescence and even through high school where she took anatomy and physiology for both her love of anatomy and to learn more about the body structures of cats through a dissection. Shai understand how all the moving pieces of your cat’s body works along with their behavioral and social dynamics making it easy for her to bond with your cat and pick up on body language they are giving her during the grooming process.

Cat Grooming is what inspired Shai to get into grooming in the first place. While she originally planned on only learning how to do cats it spiraled into a love to learn how to groom any animal she can find resources for. Shai has taken Behavioral, Hair Cut, Bathing, and First Aid Training for Cats Specifically and is currently working towards becoming a Certified Cat Groomer through International Professional Groomers or IPG the process takes a lot of time and resources but luckily Shai’s Persian cat Emmie is down to be her demonstration cat for her certification testing (with some treat bribery)

Shai believes that you can’t force any animal to do anything and instead you need to build trust and work with them to accomplish a groom. Your pet has bodily autonomy and its important that they get a say in the process. While this means your cat may not be 100% completed every service every time, it does mean that your cat will be more comfortable with going to the groomer and know they won’t be pushed past their limits.

Shai also does both volunteer grooms and discounted grooms for local cat rescue Kitty City. Its really important to her to be able to help animals in need and while she may not be able to donate funds, she can donated her time and skills to help both new intakes and permanent residents feel their best.
